About The Position

We are looking for a talented individual to join CLEAResult as an HVAC Tune‑Up Technician. As an HVAC Tune‑Up Technician, you will play a critical role in performing multi‑step HVAC tune‑ups, ensuring high‑quality service to residential customers, and representing CLEAResult and our utility client in the field. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent customer service, and a safety‑first mindset. You will travel throughout a defined service territory to perform on‑site tune‑ups, gather system data, and help homeowners improve comfort and energy efficiency.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of HVAC experience
  • An active New Mexico contractor license (MM98 or MM03)
  • EPA Type II or Universal certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience performing HVAC tune‑ups, maintenance, or service work
  • Interest in supporting energy‑efficiency programs and helping customers reduce energy use
  • The ability and willingness to frequently travel within the service territory
  • Strong HVAC troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and customer‑service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation
  • Commitment to a Safety First culture, including discussing near‑misses and safe‑work practices regularly

Responsibilities

  • Perform multi‑step tune‑ups for refrigerated air conditioning systems and ducted heat pumps.
  • Record and report detailed system data in accordance with program requirements.
  • Ensure all completed work meets local, state, and federal HVAC regulations.
  • Troubleshoot HVAC system performance issues and recommend solutions.
  • Maintain a strong safety‑first mindset on every job site.
  • Resolve customer service issues in alignment with CLEAResult and client expectations.
  • Act as a local, on‑site program representative, encouraging customer and contractor participation.
  • Answer HVAC‑related questions and provide technical guidance to clients, customers, and partners as needed.
  • Overcome participation barriers through clear communication and education.
  • Work closely with account managers, program managers, and team members to support client needs.
  • Attend regular virtual team meetings and promptly respond to email and text communications.
  • Complete all required safety, compliance, and program training on schedule.
  • Frequent travel throughout a defined utility service territory.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
