About The Position

The HVAC Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the HVAC service department. This role manages technicians, ensures high-quality service delivery, maintains customer satisfaction, and drives department profitability. The HVAC Service Manager ensures compliance with safety regulations, company standards, and industry best practices while supporting team development and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of HVAC field experience (service background preferred)
  • 2+ years of supervisory or management experience
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair
  • EPA Certification required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and HVAC codes
  • Experience with dispatching or service management software preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the HVAC service department
  • Supervise, train, and mentor HVAC service technicians and support staff
  • Schedule service calls and manage technician workload for maximum efficiency
  • Monitor service performance metrics, KPIs, and profitability
  • Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal HVAC regulations and safety standards
  • Review and approve service estimates, invoices, and warranty claims
  • Handle escalated customer concerns and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Conduct ride-alongs and field inspections to ensure quality control
  • Manage inventory, tools, equipment, and vehicle maintenance
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, and ongoing technical training
  • Collaborate with sales and installation teams to identify upsell and replacement opportunities
  • Prepare reports on department performance and financial results
