About The Position

Amentum is seeking an HVAC Technician IV to join our team in Decatur, IL! Typical work schedule is Variable 6a to 2:30P; hours may vary based on business demand. Weekend hours may be scheduled to support our 24/7 operation. The HVAC Technician is responsible for maintaining the company’s buildings, facilities, and equipment in an operating and functional condition. This will include but not limited to refrigeration repairs, troubleshooting, and air handler maintenance and repairs. Duties may include any of the following: electrical repairs or installations, plumbing, welding, machine servicing, and general mechanical maintenance (e.g. Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning or HVAC and sheet metal). Responsibilities: Under general supervision, reveals mastery of advanced duties of a specialized/technical nature. Encounters diverse problems that require thorough analysis. Diagnoses, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs heating and ventilation equipment, pumps, fans, compressors, and other mechanical equipment as necessary. Utilizes strong mechanical and electrical skills to complete assignments. Performs preventive maintenance on HVAC control and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Responds and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations, and industry standards. Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance. Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems. Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required. Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations. Coordinates work with outside contractors. Assures code and building standards are met. Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested. Perform other duties as assigned in non position duties as needed to support clients needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience in area of specialization.
  • Must have EPA 608 Universal Certificate
