HVAC/R Service Technician
About The Position
Nielsen Mechanical, a Crete United company, is hiring a Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician supporting the Denver Metro and Colorado Springs markets. We are looking for a well-rounded technician who can troubleshoot, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems while delivering a high level of service to customers. Requirements
- 5 plus years of commercial HVAC and refrigeration service experience
- EPA Universal Certification required
- Strong troubleshooting skills across HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Experience with low-temp and medium-temp refrigeration systems
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and customer-first mindset
- Valid driver’s license
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with boilers, chillers, air handlers, cooling towers, and controls preferred
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, service, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems ( RTUs, split systems, boilers, chillers, walk-in coolers and freezers, reach-ins, and ice machines)
- Support service calls across Denver Metro and Colorado Springs
- Diagnose system issues and recommend effective solutions
- Perform preventative maintenance across HVAC and refrigeration equipment
- Inspect and test systems to ensure proper operation and compliance
- Adjust system controls to optimize performance and efficiency
- Complete work orders accurately including time, materials, and notes
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Collaborate with internal teams and communicate clearly with customers

- Compensation: $35.00 to $55.00 per hour based on experience. This role is eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and may include additional incentive opportunities.
