CMTA, a Legence company, is one of the fastest growing engineering firms in the U.S., specializing in sustainable, high-performance building engineering. They are a collaborative, innovative, and energetic team that uses a data-driven, holistic approach to consulting engineering, performance contracting, and zero energy projects. The core business of their Energy Solutions division is the delivery of Guaranteed Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPCs), which upgrade and renovate facilities in a budget-neutral or budget-positive way by diverting money spent on utilities into facility upgrades. CMTA has expertise in designing highly energy-efficient buildings, including zero energy buildings. CMTA is seeking a skilled Commercial HVAC Controls Service Professional with over 10 years of commercial HVAC controls experience. This role involves utilizing knowledge of building automation systems, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, pneumatic and electronic control systems, HVAC systems, and HVAC controls software to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot HVAC control systems. The position is crucial for bridging client HVAC controls needs with technical solutions. This role is important due to the increasing complexity of modern HVAC systems, the global focus on energy efficiency and carbon emission reduction, evolving regulatory changes in building codes, and the continuous need for system optimization and maintenance. Service Professionals provide expert guidance on design, installation, maintenance, efficiency, and extending the life of HVAC systems, ensuring compliance and supporting sustainable solutions.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of commercial HVAC controls and building automation system experience
  • Associate’s degree in related field (suitable experience can substitute)
  • Experience with integration to 3rd party control systems
  • Experience with commissioning
  • Knowledge of software and computer language used to operate Tridium Niagara Framework
  • Knowledge and understanding of various communications protocols used in the industry including BACnet, Lonworks and Modbus
  • Valid drivers license in good standing, issued by resident state required

  • Niagara AX and/or N4 certification is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical support with excellent customer relation skills
  • Troubleshooting, commissioning, and servicing HVAC controls and building automation systems while ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Maintaining a vehicle by keeping records of service manuals, scheduling, and completing repairs and maintenance service
  • Documenting work by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining files
  • Providing technical support to customers and engineering staff
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required
