This temporary position is located in Raleigh - Wake County. Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $28.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Health and Human Services. This position is located at 820 South Boylan Ave., Raleigh, NC 27699. This position will be responsible for delivering training to child welfare DSS staff statewide. Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a discipline relative to the program from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of related experience; or Bachelor's degree in a discipline relative to the program area from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of the North Carolina child welfare system, specifically Child Protective Services and/or Permanency Planning.
  • Experience in delivering training to child welfare staff.
  • Experience in facilitating discussions about child welfare practice and policy with child welfare staff.
  • Experience in developing and making presentations that meet the needs of training participants.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining strong relationships with child welfare staff to meet training needs.
  • Demonstrated use of communication skills when assisting county staff with technical assistance to promote accountability.
