This is a highly responsible, professional position in the HIV/AIDS Section, Communications and Health Policy Unit. The primary responsibilities of this position are to oversee the educational materials review processes and provide liaison, guidance, and assistance to local county health departments and community-based organizations regarding HIV prevention and community engagement. Duties include researching, developing, implementing, and evaluating community engagement and outreach programs, practices, and initiatives. This position is assigned to and stationed at the Department of Health in Tallahassee, and reports to the Community Engagement Supervisor for the Communications and Health Policy Unit. Assumes the lead on all educational materials review processes for the HIV/AIDS section. Coordinates meetings of the Carlos Alvarez HIV Communications Review Panel, maintains panel membership, coordinates interim materials review via conference calls/live meetings, and maintains records related to this process. Assists in the procurement processes for any educational materials the HIV/AIDS Section plans to develop. Assumes the lead for researching, developing, and implementing strategies to promote community engagement around HIV prevention issues. Collaborates with Community Engagement Supervisor, local health departments, and community-based organizations to assess the impact of existing and emerging community engagement strategies for prevention of HIV/AIDS. Provides technical assistance for local county health department and community-based organizations to enhance their capacity to implement successful community engagement and outreach programs. Assists with administrative duties related to workflow management and review. This includes the review and editing of assigned documents, assuring there are no grammatical, spelling, or punctuation errors. Ensures DOH correspondence and branding standards are met on all written documents. Ensures documents routed beyond the HIV Section meet the highest quality of written communication standards. Coordinates the development, procurement, and distribution of the section’s HIV 101 video and other resources as assigned. Assists in the development of the annual cooperative agreement application and interim/annual program reports; assists in the development, implementation, and review of requests for proposals/invitations to negotiate or other procurement tools; assists in the development of Florida’s Integrated Plan; assists in the preparation of other routine and special programmatic reports. Assumes the lead role coordinating HIV observance day events and activities with key HIV section staff, local health department staff and community stakeholders. Serves as backup program liaison for HIV prevention media campaign website. Approves and/or uploads event information submitted by community partners. Assumes the lead role on special projects as assigned and completes other assignments as requested.
