The HR Technician is responsible for a wide variety of para-professional duties in support of Human Resources functions. Performs technical and administrative duties in support of human resources activities and operation such as, recruitment, new employee onboarding/orientation, benefits and compensation, employee benefits, leaves and reasonable accommodations, safety and wellness, and other human resources plans. Supports the implementation of recruitment and selection plans, updating job bulletins, assisting with application screening, compiling eligibility lists, and scheduling interviews, and assisting with the testing process, as assigned. Assists with various onboarding and orientation activities for new hires; prepare new hire information packets; conduct new hire meeting with employees and explain employment paperwork, as assigned. Assists with coordinating the administration, distribution and verification of employee benefits program; and provides information may provide information on plan coverage and procedures, as assigned. Provides technical support for the workers' compensation, leaves and reasonable accommodations program, as assigned. Supports the tracking and monitoring of employee safety and wellness programs, and other human resources programs, as assigned. Updates and maintains accurate documents for human resources in HRIS system. Maintains organizational charts, staff rosters, emergency contact information, employee demographics and other documents, as assigned. Maintains databases to ensure compliance with policy and procedures. Provides operational support for HR applications, data management and provides standard ad-hoc reports, as requested. Compiles data used for program evaluation and reporting. Researches, collects and compiles information from various sources for a variety of human resources areas; May assist senior level HR staff with preparing technical records, reports and summaries. Maintains a variety of hard copy/ and electronic documents and records. Conducts assigned audits in various HR functional areas to ensure compliance with federal, state, grant and accrediting agencies. Provides back-up support to the HR Specialist, as needed. Responsible for adhering to the Attendance and Absenteeism Policy, recognizing that regular attendance is considered an essential function of all FHCN positions. Absenteeism is not being at work or failing to attend a paid workshop, training, or event unless the absence is protected by law. Ability to present to and work at any FHCN location, both at the beginning of a shift or during a shift, based on business need. Performs other duties as assigned.
