About The Position

As a Human Resources Specialist within the Human Resources team in Internal Operations, you will have the opportunity to directly contribute to our purpose by providing essential human resources support and enhancing the employee experience for our people, while being a steward of Sendero and our culture. This role is an exempt position under the FLSA. This role is based in Dallas, Texas, with a hybrid work arrangement. In general, you can expect to work a minimum of one day per week at our Sendero office in downtown Dallas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or Business with a 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Up to 1 year of relevant Human Resources experience
  • Participation over time in two or more extracurricular activities
  • Leadership roles (academic, work, or extra-curricular)
  • Strong business writing and verbal information-sharing abilities
  • Basic presentation and meeting facilitation abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office product suite (Preferred: Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office product suite)
  • Certification related to discipline of expertise (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP)

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the human resources (HR) portion of new employee onboarding, including the handbook and policy review, benefits overview, and related onboarding activities
  • Complete employee setup and ongoing maintenance in the HRIS and other internal systems
  • Monitor and respond to basic employee HR inquiries through the HR and shared inboxes, assigning or escalating items to the appropriate owner as needed
  • Process 401(k) changes and other payroll-related updates
  • Complete verifications of employment (VOEs) and fulfill other administrative employee data requests
  • Conduct background screenings for new hires and ensure client-specific screening requirements are met
  • Maintain organizational charts and ensure timely updates
  • Support the annual benefits enrollment process, including scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and assisting employees as needed
  • Reconcile monthly benefit invoices and resolve discrepancies
  • Process basic leave of absence requests and assist employees with questions related to policies, escalating as needed
  • Provide support for total rewards programs
  • Conduct internal audits of data, such as PTO and personal days, to ensure accuracy
  • Support HR projects and initiatives by performing analysis, documentation, testing, and implementation tasks under the direction of the project or initiative lead
  • Cross-train with team member(s) to provide back-up support as needed
  • Complete additional projects and other duties, as assigned
