About The Position

The Human Resources Specialist – Recruiting, manages GDC’s internal hiring process, from sourcing candidates (using job boards, social media, referrals) to screening, interviewing, making offers, and ensuring a great candidate experience, all while collaborating closely with hiring managers to understand needs and build talent pipelines for various internal roles. They act as an extension of the HR team, developing strategy, managing the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), and focusing on building GDC’s brand to attract top talent.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in IT or higher, or the equivalent in work experience.
  • Knowledge of desktop operating systems including Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10.
  • Experience working with the MS Office suite & browser-based applications.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of PC Hardware configurations and troubleshooting.
  • Basic understanding of LAN/WAN technology.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate GDC’s recruitment efforts for internal placements, including job postings, candidate sourcing, resume review, applicant screening, scheduling interviews, etc.
  • Source and manage unsolicited resumes and maintain a database of potential future candidates
  • Work with hiring managers to develop a thorough understanding of the position being recruited for and to ensure a robust understanding of the work being performed
  • Utilize and maintain Applicant Tracking System and report on recruiting metrics
  • Create and foster relationships with local education institutions and diverse professional organizations to attract and recruit prospective candidates, potentially participating in job fairs or university recruitment
  • May also assist with employee relations, benefits, or training as part of broader HR duties
