About The Position

Provide hands-on support for core HR functions and responsible for supporting the professional management of a busy, dynamic Human Resources Office on thriving college campus. As the front-facing member of the HR team, the Administrator is responsible for facilitating positive and engaging interactions with all customers. The HR Administrator serves as receptionist, providing customer service and level 1 triage for constituents on HR information, policies and procedures. This role supports the entire HR team with daily tasks and ongoing projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, HR, or related field without direct experience OR an Associate's degree with a minimum of three years of experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, and ability to learn new technology quickly.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently, and to manage frequent interruptions without frustration.
  • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality.
  • Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Position requires someone with a positive outlook who enjoys serving and helping others and who wants to be a member of a busy, highly interactive team.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 – 3 years of experience in Human Resources; experience working with confidential information.
  • Proficiency in HRIS, Saas, or ATS

Responsibilities

  • Serve as receptionist and the first responder to respond, in-person, telephone and email inquiries, questions, concerns and complaints; and assist employees, students and applicants with HR related issues.
  • Responsible for owning and maintaining I-9 and e-Verify files including follow-up communication with VISA holders, ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employment records and process employment verifications for employees.
  • Assist with the onboarding and offboarding process for all employees, including student employees.
  • Provide support for bi-weekly payroll by running reports and providing feedback.
  • Overseeing benefits related tasks, including submitting workers compensation claims.
  • Process departmental billing, charge cards, and invoices in a timely manager
  • Support members of the HR team with scheduling, organizing, and planning events, including New Employee Orientation, service awards, and employee meetings. Responsible for event logistics, including scheduling rooms and speakers, order food
  • Oversee ongoing special projects, including employee award nominations, raffles, flexible work arrangement tracking, employee tuition program, dependent tuition program and more.
  • Maintain, monitor and organize the office, helping to create a warm and welcoming environment: manages supplies inventory, monitor maintenance and repairs of office equipment.
  • In time, provide backup for the Human Resource Generalists
  • Other duties as assigned.
