About The Position

Directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Human Resources function. The Human Resources Manager will have general oversight of all Human Resources-related functions, including benefits, compensation, recruiting, employee safety, and performance evaluation. Will also be required to promote and adhere to the Just Culture model.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field preferred
  • Five plus years HR Manager experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent customer/employee contact skills.
  • Ability to abide by standards of professional ethics and organizational compliance.
  • Ability to coordinate and facilitate meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Guide and manage the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs for the HR department and the organization.
  • Oversee Worker's Compensation and attend quarterly meetings.
  • Authorize or approve all job requisitions, PANs, employee BG checks, fingerprinting results, DMV pulls, internal applications, student loan repayment program employment verifications, PTO Cash Out forms, and Education Assistance program forms.
  • Address and follow up on all employment and compliance regulatory concerns.
  • Assist with creating Human Resources policies, development, and documentation as requested.
  • Participate and manage employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health as required within the Human Resources scope.
  • Development of an employee-oriented organizational culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance.
  • Monitor administration to established standards and procedures. Identify opportunities for improvement and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Encourage the ongoing development of the Human Resources staff.
  • Conduct annual reviews and make recommendations to the Chief Human Resources Officer for improvement of the Organization’s policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and insures Organization’s compliance.
  • Communicate changes in Organization personnel policies and procedures and ensure HR compliance is followed.
  • Review and report exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation.
  • Develop and maintain a human resources system that meets Organization personnel information needs.
  • Participate in committees and special projects and seek additional responsibilities.
  • Ensure Human Resource related policies and procedures are followed on a consistent basis.
  • Provide counsel, support and training to departments/managers on matters and issues relating to human resources functions.
  • Establish an effective performance management system for the Human Resources team.
  • Oversee and assist with managing benefit programs and employee questions regarding benefit plans.
  • Ensure compliance and quality of personnel files and coordinate required new hire trainings.
  • Ensure staff receive elective and required (i.e. sexual harassment prevention) HR trainings.
  • Work with department supervisors to ensure that accurate and current job descriptions are established and reviewed for all staff.
  • Working knowledge of process and COBRA Administration.
  • Ensure all legal requirements and records relating to employment are adhered to or met.
  • Escalation point of contact for employee complaints and perform investigations as warranted.
  • Oversee all aspects of departmental Quality Assurance activities and participate in organization wide Quality Improvement program.
