About The Position

Nappa Electrical Contractors is seeking a Human Resources Manager, to be based in their Billerica, MA office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 5-7 years of human resource management experience required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal and customer service abilities.
  • Detail oriented, highly accurate, with excellent organization skills
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision
  • Advanced knowledge of HR practices, personnel administration, records management, and customer service
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal laws governing HR, payroll, and benefits
  • High proficiency with recruitment strategies, onboarding, and other HR techniques to attract and retain talent
  • Knowledgeable in creating competitive compensation packages, attractive benefits plans, and incentives aligned with industry standards
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Interest in learning and growing expertise in HRIS/HRMS system (Miter)
  • Ability to work onsite in Billerica, MA Monday through Friday.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, or SHRM‑SCP) preferred
  • Construction industry experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, performance, training, and retention
  • Plans and implements HR policies, processes, training, and performance initiatives to support compliance and strategic goals
  • Oversees human resources programs, including compensation, benefits, employee relations, performance management, safety, and training
  • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management
  • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization's human resource information system (HRIS)
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and updates policies as needed
  • Stays current on HR trends, laws, and best practices and communicates policy and practice updates to leadership
  • Collaborate with finance and other departments to develop and manage the HR budget, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources
  • Manage and lead HR team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure optimal performance
  • Assure appropriate department recordkeeping and retention of all necessary files
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time
