About The Position

The Human Resources Manager will manage day-to-day operations of Arden Building Companies' Human Resources function, including but not limited to employee development and performance management, employee relations, benefits administration, recruiting and on-boarding, maintenance of employee records and employee training. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the CEO, interacting frequently with all levels and functions of employees and senior management. To be successful in this role, the incumbent must be a professional able to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. This Individual must build trust and credibility with all levels of employees by being an effective listener, advocate, mediator, coach and problem-solver of people issues while balancing business needs and corporate growth objectives. This position will be located in our Pawtucket, Rhode Island office, but will require interoffice travel to the Waterbury, Connecticut and Boston, Massachusetts offices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience; SHRM-CP/PHR/equivalent certification strongly preferred
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in an HR Generalist/Business Partner/Manager role, preferably in a construction environment
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other management staff, employees, candidates, and other external stakeholders
  • Superior analytical, evaluative and problem-solving abilities
  • Must have a solid command of Microsoft 365 products not limited to Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook; experience with BambooHR (or similar HRIS platform) preferred
  • Availability for travel throughout RI/MA/CT, up to 25%

Responsibilities

  • Lead the HR department ensuring consistent, fair policies and procedures are in place and documented to enable all employees to be successful.
  • Drive the recruitment and selection process, including job description development, candidate sourcing, and interviewing for non-union positions (exempt and non-exempt)
  • Administer the annual performance management and compensation review process, conducting salary benchmarking and analysis to ensure employee development and retention in line with company goals
  • Manage the employee benefits program, conducting periodic changes and annual open enrollment process
  • Maintain professional knowledge of legal updates, industry changes and direction shifts in order to advise executive management team on proposed courses of action
  • Implement and measure meaningful KPIs that provide insight on progress and trends related to recruiting, employees, strategic goals, etc. and report to senior management during quarterly management meetings
  • Partner with department leaders in all employee relations matters while sharing expertise and insights regarding HR policies, performance management, disciplinary matters, etc.
  • Drive initiatives in the management team and organizationally that contribute to long-term employee excellence and business growth
