Position Summary Sutton Brothers is seeking an experienced and driven Human Resources Manager to lead and support all aspects of our HR function. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who can balance day-to-day HR operations with strategic initiatives, while serving as a trusted partner to leadership and a resource for employees across the organization. This Human Resources Manager will work closely with leadership to support the team, ensure compliance, and help build a positive, high-performing culture. This role will oversee the HR function and is supported by an HR Generalist and/or HR Admin who assists with administrative responsibilities, payroll processing, and benefits administration.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of HR experience, with working knowledge of all functional areas within the HR Life Cycle.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or human resources or equivalent experience in Human Resources.
  • Strong experience with workplace safety programs and/or workers’ compensation processes preferred.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems (Paycom or other) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of employment and labor laws (federal, state, local)
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and active listening skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies that align with organizational goals, with a focus on talent acquisition, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Oversee benefits administration across the full employee lifecycle and lead annual open enrollment.
  • Ensure company compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, FLSA, ADA, OSHA, etc.).
  • Maintain oversight of employee records and HRIS data to ensure accuracy, compliance, and data integrity.
  • Oversee the recruitment lifecycle including screening, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding.
  • Develop and execute recruiting strategies to attract qualified candidates through job boards, social media, networking, and employee referrals.
  • Serve as the primary resource for employee relations matters, providing guidance, coaching, and resolution to workplace concerns.
  • Partner with leadership to support performance management, accountability, and employee development.
  • Oversee workplace safety programs, including incident reporting, tracking, and compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Lead and facilitate the company’s safety committee, including meetings, documentation, and follow-up on action items.
  • Manage workers’ compensation claims, including reporting, coordination with carriers, and return-to-work processes.
  • Analyze safety trends and implement proactive measures to reduce risk and improve workplace safety.
  • Champion company culture by identifying and implementing initiatives that enhance employee engagement and morale.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with a high level of professionalism and discretion.
  • Other duties as assigned.
