The Human Resources Manager will work with the Director of Human Resources to provide an integrated people strategy throughout the company, focusing on acting as the dedicated strategic partner for restaurants. This role involves managing performance, promotions, raises, internal transfers, administering employee benefits, developing relationships with restaurant management, handling employee relations, ensuring employment law compliance, managing I-9 compliance, collaborating with Payroll, and conducting internal audits.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships at all levels
  • 3-5 years of full-cycle HR Generalist experience, or a graduate degree in Human Resources
  • Excellent understanding of all components of HR including systems, databases and metrics
  • Ability to be proactive, independent, efficient, and resourceful in a hands-on fluid environment
  • Strong desire to learn and grow within the company, building initiatives from the ground up
  • Outstanding leadership and project management skills
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Director of Human Resources to provide an integrated people strategy throughout the company, with a focus on acting as the dedicated strategic partner for restaurants
  • Responsible for managing all processes around performance management, promotions, raises, and internal transfers for the restaurants
  • Administer employee benefits including health insurance, FSA, commuter benefits, 401(k), and COBRA
  • Develop strong relationships with restaurant management and chef teams, providing coaching and development as needed
  • Own Employee Relations process in restaurants, conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations, resolving employee grievances, and counseling employees and management
  • Oversee employment law compliance across areas such as leaves, salary transparency, notice requirements, and recordkeeping, ensuring timely policy and training updates
  • Manage I-9 compliance and related process improvements to ensure accurate documentation and ongoing audit readiness
  • Collaborate with Payroll to maintain compliance with pay, tax, and reporting obligations
  • Conduct internal audits and maintain accurate records to reduce risk and support reporting requirements
