About The Position

The Human Resources Manager will lead and execute all HR functions for our U.S. operations, supporting a dynamic workforce that includes corporate staff, sales teams, and language instructors (both in-person and online). This role is responsible for driving HR strategy, ensuring compliance with U.S. labor laws, and fostering a high-performance, inclusive culture aligned with the company’s mission to deliver exceptional language learning experiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 5–8+ years of progressive HR experience, including management responsibility
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. employment law and HR best practices
  • Strategic thinking and business partnership
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Data-driven decision-making mindset

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting a distributed or remote workforce (preferred)
  • Background in education, ed-tech, or service-based organizations (preferred)
  • HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leadership to align HR initiatives with business objectives, including growth in online and global delivery model
  • Develop and implement HR policies, programs, and best practices across U.S. operations
  • Act as a strategic advisor on organizational design, workforce planning, and talent strategy
  • Oversee full-cycle recruitment for corporate, sales, and instructional roles
  • Develop scalable hiring processes to support growth in online language delivery
  • Ensure a seamless onboarding experience for all new hires
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on performance, conflict resolution, and workplace concerns
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and engaging work environment
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives and retention strategies
  • Manage performance review processes and ensure alignment with company goals
  • Partner with leadership to identify training and development needs
  • Support career pathing, succession planning, and leadership development
  • Administer compensation programs, including salary benchmarking and incentive plans (e.g., sales commissions)
  • Oversee benefits administration and annual renewals
  • Ensure competitive and compliant compensation practices
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Maintain and improve HR systems (e.g., HRIS, payroll platforms like BambooHR or similar)
  • Oversee employee records, reporting, and HR analytics
  • Manage HR practices specific to instructors (e.g., part-time, contract, or remote educators)
  • Ensure compliance with classification (W-2 vs. 1099) and multi-state employment requirements
  • Support scheduling, engagement, and retention of teaching staff
