About The Position

Provides operational and consultative support to facility management at all levels on a daily basis. Advises management and employees on questions or concerns relating to human resources. Responsible for overall management of administration, coordination and evaluation of the facility’s HR policies, programs, and practices including recruitment, retention, training, employee relations, employee counseling and/or corrective action matters, compensation, benefits, payroll practices including time and attendance, and safety and health. Responsible for overall regulatory compliance of accredited agencies as well as legal compliance of local, state, and federal laws. Actively participates in achieving companywide goals and works in close collaboration with assigned Divisional Director of Human Resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of previous human resources experience required.
  • Current, valid, and active driver’s license required.
  • Significant understanding of human resource laws, concepts, and applications associated with human resources.
  • Experience in employee relations and conflict resolution.
  • Refined negotiation, mediation, program design and implementation skills.
  • Ability to lead diverse teams to a common purpose and proactively seek new ideas and solutions to organizational challenges.
  • Exemplary customer service skills, communication skills, and interpersonal skills are absolutely imperative.
  • Must be responsive to needs of organization and possess ability to balance the needs of multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
  • Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
  • Regular and punctual attendance.
  • English is the primary language of the facility.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals as appropriate to the position.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral and/or diagram form.
  • Ability to define and solve problems and collect data.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in healthcare preferred.
  • Knowledge of The Joint Commission, CARF, state and federal regulations relating to human resources preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct, plan, develop and implement recruitment efforts to ensure appropriate staffing in all areas of the facility.
  • Assess, plan, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the human resources function in accordance with local, state and federal law and regulations.
  • Promote through practice, a problem solving, solutions oriented environment that builds talent and organizational capabilities, and establishes a positive environment that aligns with the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Facilitate employee benefit plans (new hire communication, open enrollment and status changes) and recognition programs designed for employee retention and satisfaction.
  • Provide orientation, education, training and coaching to employees, managers and leaders regarding human resources and staff development issues.
  • Provide facilitation, negotiation and problem solving consultation for employees, managers, and teams.
  • Supervise assigned areas including providing oversight of the time keeping and payroll function.
  • Remain current with literature/techniques related to position and maintain updated methodology and tools as necessary and appropriate.
