Hood Packaging Corporation is currently recruiting a Human Resources Manager for our Arden Hills and Roseville, MN facilities. The Human Resources Manager manages and administers a range of HR programs and services covering health & safety, employment/employee relations, recruitment, training and development and compensation and benefits. The position requires in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Company policies and employment laws.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree in Human Resources, psychology or related field.
  • Three to five years’ experience as a Human Resources Manager or senior level Human Resources representative position.
  • Proficient in MS Office and HRIS systems
  • Strong analytical skills; detail oriented
  • Professional communication skills, both written and verbal including negotiation and presentation skills. Ability to work successfully in an independent environment with little supervision
  • Works cooperatively with others; understands team concept and promotes a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing the Human Resources function and the support staff.
  • Recruit, develop and retain quality associates at designated staffing levels.
  • Policy and procedure development and implementation.
  • Wage, salary and benefit administration.
  • Union contract negotiation and administration.
  • Maintain HR Report for three sites and report to the corporate office monthly.
  • Maintain employee files – electronic and paper.
  • Provide new employees with new hire documentation and assist with filling out forms; explain procedures and benefits; set up employee in HRIS, Payroll and time & attendance systems.
  • Maintain a positive employee relations atmosphere.
  • Responsible for providing leadership, direction, training and resources for SQF food safety and quality system in the North Region.
  • Worker’s compensation administration.
  • Prepare and maintain OSHA logs.
  • Ensure all hourly and salary employees are enrolled properly for group benefits.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding benefit eligibility and issues.
  • Maintain hourly group benefits report and report to Corporate monthly.
  • Respond/investigate issues with hourly payroll processing.
  • Approve semi-monthly non-exempt salary timesheets prior to payroll processing
