About The Position

The Human Resources Manager supports the Plant Management team and the corporate Human Resources team to ensure compliance with UGN policies and procedures to maintain equitable and consistent development and treatment of all Team Members. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the management team regarding all HR-related matters. You will ensure the plant remains in compliance with all policies relating to all phases of Human Resources activity by partnering with the plant management team. The role will supervise the HR Generalist and HR Assistant at this location. This is an on-site, 5 days/week role and is based in our Monroe, OH, facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • 2+ years of HR Manager or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • 8+ years of HR Generalist experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong Team Member relations/interpersonal communication skills with all levels of Team Members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where quick decision-making skills are required.
  • Ability to prioritize/juggle multiple responsibilities and problem-solve.
  • Experience supporting/leading safety and knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct new team member orientation to foster a positive attitude toward company goals.
  • Ensure records of team member transactions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, are properly maintained.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local labor laws. Manage consistent and equitable application of UGN policies, disciplinary procedures, and compensation programs.
  • Recruit, interview, and select team members to fill vacant positions in the plant facility.
  • Advise management in the appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Administer performance review and salary administration programs to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization.
  • Conduct exit interviews to determine the reasons behind separations.
  • Prepare reports and recommend procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
  • Assist Managers and Shift Coordinators with team member concerns, discipline, and interpretation of company policies. Advise team members on matters affecting their employment.
  • Allow an open-door forum for team members to voice their questions, concerns, or complaints.
  • Investigate complaints regarding team member relations. Represent the organization at legal hearings and investigations.
  • Perform training as required for hourly and managerial personnel.
  • Lead plant communication meetings and team member engagement programs.
  • Orient team members on safety programs to maintain UGN safety standards and compliance with federal or state regulations.
  • Support the implementation of company safety policies, plans, and procedures required by OSHA. Support plant management in ensuring a strong safety culture at the plant.
  • Manage and partner with other departments as needed regarding workers' compensation claims and costs.
  • Partner with the EH&S team to keep current all plant written safety information, plans, programs, practices, and procedures.
  • Maintain all OSHA documentation and accident/injury reports.
  • Manages the HR Team at the plant.
