About The Position

The HR Manager, located in Thomasville, NC, is responsible for the day-to-day administration of policies and programs typically covering most of the following: recruitment, payroll, training, employee and labor relations, and leave of absence. Reporting to the VP Human Resources, the incumbent will partner with other members of the HR function to ensure the location is aligned with strategic and functional direction. The role will provide front-line guidance to the plant management team and employees in all aspects of human resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Human Resources or equivalent experience in Human Resources
  • Minimum 3 years of broad HR functional experience
  • Experience with and knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration including current legal compliance and employee handbook/policies

Nice To Haves

  • HR certification such as PHR, SPHR or GPHR
  • Experience in supporting Manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance, coaching, and counseling to the local leadership team on policies and processes and employee relations issues
  • Handle administrative and operational Human Resource requirements for the assigned locations
  • Provides support to Operations Talent Partner on strategic initiatives; supports local managers on HR initiatives.
  • Acts as an information resource for employees with questions or issues regarding HR policies and procedures
  • Assists with resolving people-related issues, settle disputes, and conducts internal investigative procedures
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues
  • Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews
  • Performs benefits administration by providing input and support on benefits vendors selection, open enrollment, billing reconciliation, claims resolution, change reporting, and communicating benefit information to employees
  • Acts as a change agent by recommending new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve the efficiency of the department and services performed
  • Assists with developing data-driven reporting for decision-making to foster business transformation
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable Federal and State Laws including EEO, ACA, FMLA, HIPAA, and ADA
  • Assists in recruiting efforts for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, interns, and temporary employees
  • Conducts new-employee orientation.
  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
  • Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for corrective action and continuous improvement
  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all site employees, and; supports the preparation and maintenance of the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve the efficiency of the department and services performed.
