This position requires a deep understanding of the intersectional approaches of climate justice and Indigenous rights and the effects of colonization on Indigenous communities as it pertains to human relations and staff management within a non-profit organization. For more information go to our website at https://www.indigenousclimateaction.com/ POSITION SUMMARY Indigenous Climate Action is seeking a passionate, motivated and personable individual to fill the role of the Human Resources Manager. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures through a decolonized approach that supports our organizational goals. The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing and nurturing our staff, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring our HR programming incorporates ICA’s decolonial mission and values, while ensuring compliance with relevant provincial laws and regulations on a national scale. The Human Resources Manager reports to the Director of Operations & HR. In addition, the Human Resources Manager will work collaboratively with the Nourishment Pod team overseeing human resource management for staff located across the country. The position requires demonstrated competency in the following areas: Demonstrated progressive experience in employee relation management and/or leadership positions (working in a non-profit is an asset) Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop HR plans and programs that align with the organization's strategic goals, vision, and mission. Proven experience working with a not-for-profit Board with a diverse group of people Experience and success in motivating, recruiting, developing, retaining, and mentoring high performance, mission-driven, and results-oriented teams. Excellent communications skills in an online environment, including the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels of the organization, as well as external partners and stakeholders. Demonstrated experience in working remotely in a home office environment. Excellent verbal and written communications Lived experience in, or demonstrated knowledge of Indigenous peoples' rights, cultures, and histories, as well as the impacts of climate change on Indigenous communities locally and around the world. Demonstrated commitment to advancing environmental justice and practices of anti-oppression within the organization and its HR policies, programs, and practices.
