About The Position

The Human Resources Manager plays a critical role in supporting PPSWO’s mission by ensuring that human resources practices, policies, and systems are equitable, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals. This role manages the full employee life cycle and day-to-day HR operations, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, payroll, benefits administration, compliance, and credentialing. Serving as the primary HR leader for the affiliate, the Human Resources Manager partners closely with leadership and staff to foster a positive, inclusive, and legally compliant workplace culture across multiple sites. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Human Resources, Business Administration, or Medical fields are a plus.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive human resources experience, including hands-on responsibility for recruiting, employee relations, payroll, benefits administration, and compliance.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Ohio and federal employment and payroll laws.
  • Experience supporting employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
  • Experience administering employee benefits programs and coordinating with external vendors.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems; Paycom experience strongly preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a stand-alone role or department-of-two HR role strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and managers, providing guidance on policies, procedures, and employee relations matters.
  • Support employee relations investigations in collaboration with leadership and legal counsel as appropriate.
  • Assist with stay interviews, exit interviews, and employee feedback processes to support engagement and retention.
  • Support administration and tracking of the quarterly performance review process.
  • Ensure job descriptions are reviewed and updated periodically.
  • Oversee recruiting, full cycle hiring processes, and onboarding.
  • Manage employee separations, including resignations and involuntary terminations, ensuring compliance, documentation, and respectful processes.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll and collaborate with managers to resolve payroll-related issues accurately and timely.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, retirement, life, disability, and COBRA.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits questions and vendor coordination.
  • Track and manage leave requests, including FMLA and other applicable programs.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and compliant personnel files and HR records in accordance with federal, state, PPFA, and organizational requirements.
  • Provide employment verifications as requested.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment and payroll laws.
  • Coordinate and manage HR compliance reporting, including BLS, BWC, EEOC, and other required agencies.
  • Monitor licensure, certifications, and required training for healthcare staff
  • Oversee credentialing and re-credentialing processes for licensed personnel.
  • Maintain and support updates to the Employee Handbook and HR policies and procedures.
  • Identify and proactively address areas of HR risk.
  • Serve as the primary administrator and coordinator for PPSWO’s HR and payroll systems (Paycom experience strongly preferred).
  • Own HRIS vendor relationship and ongoing management of the system.
  • Generate HR reports, correspondence, and documentation as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, efficiency, and employee experience
