About The Position

The Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux is seeking a mission-driven Human Resources Manager to oversee all human resources functions for the Diocese. This position serves as the principal HR leader, providing guidance and support to diocesan leadership, pastors, principals, and administrative staff. The HR Manager ensures compliance, fosters positive employee relations, and supports a culture aligned with the mission of the Catholic Church.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Louisiana employment law
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Must complete Safe Environment Training
  • Ability to travel within the Diocese
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with self-funded health plans a plus
  • Familiarity with Catholic Church teachings and values preferred
  • SHRM/HRCI certification a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide HR leadership and consultation across diocesan entities
  • Oversee HR policies, compliance, and employee relations
  • Administer employee benefits programs
  • Support recruitment, on boarding, and performance management
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and diocesan policies
  • Assist the Payroll Manager with payroll processes to ensure systems alignment, HR data integrity and reconciliation of benefits and payroll data
  • Collaborate with leadership on organizational development
