About The Position

Reporting to the EVP, Human Resources, the Bilingual Human Resources Manager will be a key contributor within the Human Resources team at Messagepoint. This hybrid position blends responsibilities typically associated with a Human Resources Manager and a HR Generalist, providing hands-on support across all core HR functions. The ideal candidate will bring both tactical expertise and strategic awareness, applying sound judgment, strong communication skills, and a problem-solving mindset. This role supports employees in Canada, the U.S., and the UK, with responsibilities spanning HRIS management, policy administration, compliance, benefits, recruitment, onboarding, immigration, employee relations, day-to-day HR operations, facilities and office management.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience in a generalist, advisor, or HR Manager capacity; experience in a technology or SaaS environment preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French (spoken and written).
  • Demonstrated experience with HRIS platforms; BambooHR experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience administering benefits programs in Canada; U.S. and UK experience considered a strong asset.
  • Familiarity with immigration processes and international employment practices.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer-service skills with the ability to build trust and credibility.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment.
  • Solid understanding of employment legislation in Canada; knowledge of U.S. and UK employment laws is an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; professional HR designation (CHRP, CPHR, SHRM-CP) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for HR inquiries from employees and managers across all jurisdictions.
  • Provide day-to-day support for employee relations matters, ensuring professionalism, fairness, and confidentiality.
  • Facilitate full-cycle onboarding and offboarding, including new-hire orientation, probationary check-ins, and exit interviews.
  • Support HR programs and initiatives that reinforce employee engagement, well-being, and an inclusive workplace culture.
  • Administer employee benefits programs in Canada, the U.S., and the UK, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans.
  • Act as a liaison with benefits carriers and broker partners to resolve employee issues and answer benefit-related questions.
  • Support annual renewals, plan updates, and open-enrollment activities.
  • Ensure benefits documentation and communication are accurate, timely, and accessible.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date employee records within BambooHR.
  • Generate HR dashboards, metrics, and analyses to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Train employees and people managers on HRIS workflows, self-service capabilities, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data integrity, automate processes, and enhance system utilization.
  • Support immigration, work permits, and relocation processes for new hires and existing employees.
  • Coordinate with external immigration counsel and government agencies, maintaining accurate documentation and timelines.
  • Track work permit and visa statuses to ensure organizational compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Respond to employment verification requests with accuracy, confidentiality, and timeliness.
  • Ensure HR practices and documentation comply with local employment legislation and internal policies across all regions.
  • Maintain organized and complete employee files; support internal and external audits as required.
  • Assist in updating HR policies and procedures to reflect evolving legal and operational requirements.
  • Support annual performance evaluation cycles, employee engagement surveys, and professional development initiatives.
  • Assist in coordinating employee events and culture-building activities.
  • Provide recruitment support, including job postings, interview scheduling, candidate communications, and coordination with hiring managers.
  • Contribute to ongoing HR projects that enhance organizational effectiveness, employee experience, and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee office supply ordering and vendor coordination
  • Liaise with building management to ensure timely maintenance and repairs
  • Support office logistics for employee events and order food for team gatherings
  • Help maintain an organized, welcoming, and well-functioning office environment
