About The Position

As a Human Resources Intern you will work in a multidisciplinary role providing support in functional areas of the Human Resources department. This includes operations and recordkeeping, recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, program and event management, and compliance. 20-30 hours per week over the summer. 9am-3pm 5 days per week in West Des Moines office What you'll do: Assist with recruitment and onboarding activities such as job posting, resume evaluation, scheduling interviews, processing of new hires, and training administration. Assist with the planning and coordination of intern events. Maintenance of employee records, including employee status updates, terminations, and new hires. Collect employee information that will be used in reports and statistical research. Ensure employee data is correctly entered into the company record keeping system. Work with Senior HR employees to learn about the functions of Benefits, Employee Relations, Organizational Performance and Talent Attraction. May assist with HR projects like Open Enrollment, Workforce and Succession Planning.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing a degree in Business, Psychology, Liberal Arts or another related field
  • Desire to join the field of Human Resources post-graduation
  • This position requires attention to detail and excellent communication skills (in person, virtually and written)
