About The Position

As a Human Resources Intern you will work in a multidisciplinary role providing support in functional areas of the Human Resources department. This includes operations and recordkeeping, recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, program and event management, and compliance. 20-30 hours per week over the summer. 9am-3pm 5 days per week in West Des Moines office

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing a degree in Business, Psychology, Liberal Arts or another related field
  • Desire to join the field of Human Resources post-graduation
  • This position requires attention to detail and excellent communication skills (in person, virtually and written)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruitment and onboarding activities such as job posting, resume evaluation, scheduling interviews, processing of new hires, and training administration.
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of intern events.
  • Maintenance of employee records, including employee status updates, terminations, and new hires.
  • Collect employee information that will be used in reports and statistical research.
  • Ensure employee data is correctly entered into the company record keeping system.
  • Work with Senior HR employees to learn about the functions of Benefits, Employee Relations, Organizational Performance and Talent Attraction.
  • May assist with HR projects like Open Enrollment, Workforce and Succession Planning.
