About The Position

Human Resources Intern - Summer 2026 This opportunity is based at our corporate headquarters in West Bend, Wisconsin. This is a paid internship. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role. Summer internship duration runs from approximately June 1 - September 4, 2026. HR Intern - Position Summary: Delta Defense is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Intern to join our HR team for Summer 2026. This internship is designed for students or recent graduates interested in building a career in Human Resources. This role will provide exposure to various HR and business process functions. Engage with various teams to observe, shadow, absorb, and learn about employee relations, performance management, compensation, and HR operations. This role provides a unique opportunity to learn directly from HR professionals, contribute to meaningful projects, and develop a strong foundation in HR practices. Successful candidates are relentlessly resourceful and can handle complex requests quickly while maintaining a high standard of quality. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be a current college junior, senior or anticipated May 2026 graduate, pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Clear, professional communicator.
  • Eager and willing to learn.
  • Project management mindset - able to plan, track, and support HR projects from start to finish by organizing steps, meeting deadlines, and coordinating with others to keep work moving forward.
  • Computer fluency; working knowledge of software applications and advanced internet functions.
  • Demonstrates the Core Values of Delta Defense, LLC.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Google Suite is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Learn about employee relations, performance management processes, compensation analysis, promotions, workplace investigations, and headcount planning.
  • Shadow various HR functions such as Payroll, Benefits, HRIS, HR Business Partners (HRBPs), Internal Communications, Community Engagement, Recruiting, Onboarding & Orientation, and Leadership & Employee Development.
  • Support the design and rollout of early-career and entry-level talent initiatives, including program coordination and documentation.
  • Partner with the HR team to improve and streamline key people processes across the employee lifecycle (onboarding, transitions, and employee support programs).
  • Maintain accurate HR documentation by tracking, auditing, and updating job descriptions and related materials.
  • Assist with employment compliance projects in partnership with cross-functional teams, including Payroll and Benefits.
  • Help organize and maintain shared HR resources and files to ensure information is easy to find, current, and consistent.
  • Develop an understanding and awareness of best practices related to adherence to policies and standards as set forth by the organization.
  • Participate in HR training and meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
