About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist supports the full range of HR functions within the Somic America, Inc. manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on employee relations, compliance, and workforce support for hourly and salaried employees. Role partners closely with plant leadership to ensure HR policies, procedures, and practices support operational goals while maintaining a positive, safe, and compliant workplace.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 2–5 years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong working knowledge of employment laws and regulations impacting manufacturing and hourly workforces
  • Experience supporting attendance policies, shift-based schedules, and production environments
  • Ability to build effective relationships with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
  • High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems, timekeeping systems, and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, hands-on plant environment

Nice To Haves

  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent)
  • Experience with safety programs, workers’ compensation, or OSHA reporting

Responsibilities

  • Administer HR programs including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, and compliance
  • Support full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried manufacturing roles, including job postings, screening, interviews, and onboarding
  • Serve as the primary HR point of contact for plant employees and supervisors regarding policies, procedures, and employee issues
  • Support employee relations activities, including investigations, disciplinary actions, attendance management, and conflict resolution
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including wage and hours, EEO, FMLA, OSHA, and workers’ compensation requirements
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data for a high-volume workforce
  • Coordinate benefits administration and assist employees with benefits questions and enrollment
  • Support performance management and corrective action processes in partnership with supervisors
  • Assist with training initiatives, including new hire orientation, safety training coordination, and compliance training
  • Support Payroll functions, assisting with bi-weekly payroll processing as needed
  • Prepare HR reports, metrics, and documentation to support audits and business needs
  • Partner with plant leadership on workforce planning, employee engagement, and retention initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support plant operations
