About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic HR Generalist who will serve as a critical partner to the corporate HR function and executive leadership team at our Norcross, GA headquarters. The HR Generalist plays an integral role in delivering a seamless employee experience across the full talent lifecycle: from onboarding and engagement to compliance, program management support, and administrative excellence. Operating in a fast-paced, global manufacturing environment, this role requires a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and organizational agility. The ideal candidate brings demonstrated experience supporting senior leaders, a strong command of HR practices and processes, and the ability to manage competing priorities with precision and composure. This is a visible, high-impact role that interfaces across all levels of the organization and contributes meaningfully to the HR function's strategic and operational objectives. The position is hybrid-based, requiring a minimum of two days per week on-site, with additional in-office presence as business needs dictate. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in a human resources role within a corporate environment in an executive support role.
  • Proven experience working with senior leaders in a corporate environment where confidentiality is crucial.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR practices, processes, and safety standards.
  • Experience working with HRIS database required (ADP & Vantage preferred).
  • Customer-centric focus while delivering exceptional service both internally and externally
  • Strong teaming abilities with a learning mindset.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction while solving problems and obtaining desired results.
  • Demonstrate effective communications (verbal, written) skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Maintain discretion when working with confidential and proprietary information.
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills and ability to prioritize and balance time management with conflicting timelines.
  • Strict adherence to Company safety policies and procedures.
  • Consistently models and upholds Lightera's “Standards of Conduct” and principles of professional conduct, demonstrating integrity, accountability, and ethical decision-making in all aspects of the role.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual proficiency in Japanese preferred.
  • Experience working in a matrixed global environment is preferred.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, PHR, or similar) preferred or willingness to obtain one.
  • Must be willing to be a notary public on the company’s behalf.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or support the Norcross Corporate onboarding and off-boarding program to ensure new hires are properly integrated into the company and equipped to succeed in their roles, including remote and field-based corporate employees.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the new employee’s workspace, including setting up their computer, software, email accounts, access to internal systems, and any required tools.
  • Organize a comprehensive first week schedule that includes introductions and an overview of the company’s culture, values, and policies.
  • Facilitate introductions to key team members and departments, ensuring that new employees understand who they will collaborate with and what resources are available to them.
  • Lead the P-Card, travel card, travel site, and expense report system creation and updates with new and existing employees.
  • First HR contact for Corporate employees who need support or have questions.
  • Partner with HRBP: Corporate and Program Management on initiatives to enhance employee engagement, retention, and satisfaction by supporting programs that foster a positive and inclusive company culture.
  • Assist in talent acquisition and recruiting events/processes as needed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization in our global footprint.
  • Ability to lead and/or support employee relations concerns as needed.
  • Lead and/or support HR projects locally and globally to improve processes.
  • Lead and manage on and off-site meeting vendors, coordination, and logistics including but not limited to travel, hotel bookings, event spaces, transportation, and full support of visitors.
  • Primary owner of travel platform for employees and candidates, and assists as needed to provide a positive experience. Extracts requested reports and acts as approval proxy for leaders, if unavailable.
  • Leads the HR budget administrative process.
  • Lead and or support corporate safety programs, including health, well-being, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Ensure that HR initiatives, policies, and practices are compliant with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards, including HR related files.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of human resource policies and processes.
  • Maintain job description library to ensure consistency, manage updates as needed, and ensure compliance.
  • Input data in HR software platforms for new hires, employee moves, and ensure the data integrity of employee information.
  • Calendar management and travel arrangements for executives, including travel documentation for international requirements.
  • Ordering of supplies for the Norcross Corporate area, HR team, and other general administrative tasks.
  • Delivers on‑demand support to the SVP of HR, contributing to strategic talent initiatives and organizational programs as required.
  • Generates accurate, timely reports and analytics from multiple HR and business systems to inform leadership decisions and operational planning.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
