Job Summary B&A’s HR Generalist serves as a key member of the Human Resources team, supporting the delivery of HR programs, employee experience, and business operations. This role partners with leadership and employees to provide guidance on HR policies, processes, and best practices, while helping to drive consistency, compliance, and operational excellence across the organization. This position will report to the HR Director and sit in the Huntsville, AL headquarters office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 4+ years of progressive HR experience
  • Experience supporting multiple HR functional areas
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with HRIS systems and data management
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM-CP or other HR certification preferred
  • Prior experience working in federal contracting preferred
  • Prior experience with system implementations preferred
  • Prior experience with M&A activity preferred

Responsibilities

  • Employee Relations & Manager Support
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employees and managers, providing guidance on HR policies and employee matters
  • Partner with managers to address employee relations, performance concerns, and development needs
  • Support performance management processes, including coaching, documentation, and investigations
  • HR Operations & Program Management
  • Support core HR processes, including onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle changes
  • Assist in maintaining and improving existing HR programs and initiatives
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of HR processes and a positive employee experience
  • Support development and delivery of HR communications, training, and materials”
  • Identify and support implementation of process and program improvements
  • Assist with HR-related activities during organizational changes, including integrations and employee transitions
  • Benefits Administration
  • Support benefits administration, including enrollments, education, and issue resolution
  • Partner with brokers and vendors to address employee questions and support program execution
  • Contribute to benefits analysis, audits, and program enhancements
  • Compliance & Risk Management
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Assist with required reporting (e.g., EEO-1, ACA, VETS 4212)
  • Maintain accurate and compliant employee records
  • HR Systems & Data
  • Maintain an ensure HRIS data integrity
  • Assist in auditing and improving HR systems and processes
  • Compile and analyze HR data to support reporting and identify basic trends
  • Organizational Programs
  • Support development and execution of programs such as professional development, recognition, and engagement
  • Partner with HR leadership to enhance program effectiveness and employee experience
  • Assist in delivering professional development program and other initiatives that reinforce culture and company values
