About The Position

This Human Resources Generalist role focuses on supporting associates’ day-to-day needs while ensuring a positive, compliant, and professional workplace. You will serve as a trusted point of contact for employees and supervisors, handle core HR functions such as onboarding and payroll support, and contribute to workforce planning, training, and engagement initiatives. The role requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while partnering closely with leaders across the organization.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of Human Resources experience, including hands-on work in payroll and onboarding.
  • Experience in human resource generalist functions such as employee relations, HR administration, and talent management.
  • Strong in employee relations, including handling attendance issues and workplace conduct matters.
  • Working knowledge of HR compliance regulations, including FMLA and EEO guidelines.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in all HR matters.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Experience with HR systems and HRIS platforms, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide responsive, high-quality internal customer service.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail for data entry, documentation, and administrative support.
  • Capability to support recruitment, onboarding, and training activities.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Human Resources, Psychology, or Social Work (preferred but not required).
  • Experience with HRIS platforms such as ADP and ServiceNow, or the ability to quickly learn similar systems.
  • Familiarity with talent management systems and processes, including performance management and retention efforts.
  • Experience in workforce planning and aligning staffing needs with operational demands.
  • Strong in coordinating with vendors for benefits, training, or other HR-related services.
  • Experience supporting workplace culture and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Training or experience in delivering or supporting training instruction for employees and supervisors.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with health and wellness personnel on employee well-being programs.

Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day needs of employees by providing timely, accurate, and professional HR guidance and assistance.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of management regarding employee needs, performance, and workplace conduct.
  • Partner with supervisors to maintain a positive, professional, and supportive work environment.
  • Work toward achieving annual HR goals and performance objectives aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Address and resolve attendance-related issues promptly and document actions appropriately.
  • Coordinate with onsite health and wellness personnel to support employee well-being initiatives.
  • Participate actively in the training and onboarding of new hires, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience.
  • Assist with various annual company events and employee engagement initiatives to strengthen workplace culture.
  • Attend weekly staff or departmental meetings and contribute to recruiting, training, and retention efforts.
  • Align workforce planning with operational demands by collaborating with leaders and HR colleagues.
  • Foster a welcoming, open, and supportive environment within the HR function and across the organization.
  • Respond to employee inquiries in a timely, accurate, and service-oriented manner.
  • Pursue ongoing HR education through seminars, training classes, and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with service vendors for employee benefits, leaves of absence, training, and other HR-related services.
  • Assist supervisors and team leads with corrective actions, coaching documentation, and performance support.
  • Handle HR administration tasks, including data entry, HR systems updates, and general administrative support.
  • Support payroll processes and related HRIS activities, ensuring accurate and timely information.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FMLA and EEO guidelines.
  • Review and help update HR policies and procedures as needed to maintain compliance and best practices.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and commitment to internal customer service in all HR interactions.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, using sound judgment and initiative to resolve issues.
  • Perform additional HR responsibilities and duties as assigned to support the needs of the department.
