About The Position

The HR Generalist will work under the guidance of the Director of Human Resources and will focus on a variety of duties including employee relations, compliance, training and administrative duties.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of HR policies and procedures, employment laws and regulations such as FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and EEOC.
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures for recruitment and selection preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-site manufacturing environment where rapid response and prioritization skills are regularly utilized.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail to communicate effectively in a professional manner.
  • Excellent organizational skills including the ability to multi-task, manage time efficiently and maintain accuracy.
  • Ability to build rapport and trusting relationships with all levels of the Company.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to off-site business units as needed.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as an HR Generalist, or similarly structured HR roles.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field required; PHR or SHRM certification a plus.
  • Strong PC experience in MS Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required, knowledge of OneNote and SharePoint helpful.
  • Proficiency in working with HRIS, ATS and payroll systems required – ADP Workforce Now experience required.
  • Due to ITAR regulations, only U.S. persons—defined as U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents (Green Card holders), and U.S. nationals—are eligible for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing is strongly preferred but not required.
  • PHR or SHRM certification a plus.
  • knowledge of OneNote and SharePoint helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Employee Relations – address employee inquiries and concerns, this includes conflict resolution and partnering with managers on workforce needs or concerns.
  • Training & Development – responsible for providing ongoing training to the workforce including required annual refresher training and oversight of employee training systems such as Tooling U. Identify ongoing training needs and provide opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • Policy Implementation – effectively communicate with managers and the workforce to implement updated or new HR/company policies. Ensure policies and notices are posted physically at all business units and on HRIS system. Update HRIS Self-Service portal and ETQ documents.
  • Safety – work alongside operations to ensure safety programs are in place and regular employee training is conducted. Responsible for OSHA record keeping and reporting. Process and manage worker’s compensation claims, including ensuring appropriate documentation and investigations are completed post-accident. Facilitate the leave process for the employee.
  • Leaves of Absence – process FMLA, unpaid leaves of absence and short-term disability requests.
  • Performance Management – facilitate performance management programs and initiatives.
  • Benefit Administration – administration of employee benefits programs. This involves communicating benefits to employees, assisting with enrollment, handling monthly billing reconciliation, and supporting employees with any ongoing needs or questions.
  • Payroll – utilizing ADP Workforce Now, process payroll for multiple locations and act as a resource for payroll questions at other business units. Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  • Understand and demonstrate the Company’s core values.
  • Assist in employment-related inquiries from employees and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the HR Director.
  • Perform administrative duties including processing employment verifications, maintaining the company intranet site, and handle company-wide communication and postings, etc.
  • Assist business unit leadership teams with employee engagement activities including anniversaries, holiday events, and other events to support employee engagement and retention
  • Provide data analysis and support for compliance reporting to include TRIR, EEO, ACA, turnover, and KPI data.
  • Perform other duties as dictated by business need.
