About The Position

Key Responsibilities: Graduate Assistant (GA) Personnel Management Manage GA appointments, reappointments, terminations, and evaluations for assigned departments. Coordinate new hire processes, including GatorStart and onboarding. Create and process Letters of Appointment (LOA) and tuition waivers. Monitor tuition waiver error reports and proactively resolve issues. Track evaluation completion and escalate concerns as needed. HR Transactions & Recruitment Support Prepare and coordinate HR actions for Graduate Assistants, Student Assistants, and OPS employees. Serve as Level 1 originator and back-up Level 1 approver Draft updates to HR documents with Team Lead support. Assist in preparing and routing Summer Work Break letters. Time & Labor, Payroll, and Leave Oversight Provide guidance to staff handling time and labor tasks. Review preliminary and final payroll lists for accuracy. Review and submit FMLA paperwork and On-Cycle/Emergency Check requests. Serve as a leave approver and ensure compliance with UF leave policies. Work with supervisors, EBS-HR personnel, and UF Leave Administration on complex leave matters. Track leave entry for faculty and staff on approved Leave of Absence/FMLA. Additional Responsibilities Assist with division-wide needs during peak periods. Serve as back-up supervisor for EBS-HR staff in the absence of the Team Lead. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Preferred experience with PeopleSoft, particularly Personnel and Payroll modules.
  • Solid understanding of UF personnel and payroll procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience supervising HR support staff is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, specificially Word and Excel; knowledge of basic accounting principles.
