About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist acts as a strategic partner and liaison between employees, managers, and key departments to ensure a positive and high-performing work environment. This position is responsible for delivering comprehensive HR services in the areas of employee relations, talent acquisition, investigations, leadership development, and internal event coordination. Employee Relations Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations concerns, fostering transparent and respectful communication, ensuring timely and appropriate resolution of performance, attendance, and conduct issues. Conduct confidential workplace investigations and support resolutions of employee concerns in alignment with company policies and recommend resolutions in accordance with Firm policies and legal requirements. Collaborate with managers and Firm leadership to proactively identify and address employee needs, engagement issues, and team dynamics. Including drafting and maintaining clear documentation for HR matters and correction actions. Recruiting Partner with hiring managers to develop and execute effective recruitment strategies for professional staff. Manage the full cycle recruitment process including sourcing, screening, interviewing, coordinating interviews and extending offers. Ensure a positive candidate experience and alignment with the Firm's values and culture. Employee Lifecycle & Development Support all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding. Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding processes in collaboration with key departments. Engage with employees regularly to assess satisfaction, professional development needs, and workplace concerns. Partner with leadership to design and deliver leadership development sessions and employee training initiatives. Event Coordination & Engagement Coordinate and manage internal events for the Kansas City office but may include occasional event coordination across multiple locations. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to plan, organize, and execute events that foster engagement, culture, and recognition. Strategic HR Partnership Supports leaders with talent strategies, workforce planning and employee development, Ensure HR deliveries through effective collaboration and long-term people solutions. Serve as a HR Generalist and strategic advisor to business leaders and managers, helping align HR strategies with business objectives. Participate in HR initiatives and projects that support organizational growth and change management. Serve as a connector for employees and managers to firm resources, including the employee assistance resources, performance coaching, community resources and leave programs. Maintains a courteous, professional demeanor under stress and maintains confidentiality at all times. Keeps supervisor abreast of current issues and potential problems as they develop, suggests practical solutions and seeks advice as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • three to five years progressive experience in HR generalist functions including employee relations, recruitment, event coordination and development; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to use various software programs, including Microsoft Office suite and Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, investigative practices, and HR best practices
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • High emotional intelligence and collaborative mindset
  • Comfortable making independent decisions for employee relations and hiring

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM or HRCI certification preferred
  • Experience in event planning is a plus
