About The Position

Ferguson Township is seeking a part-time Human Resources Coordinator to join their administration team, dedicated to supporting the employees of Ferguson Township. This onsite role offers the opportunity to impact the community by supporting the full employee lifecycle for the Public Works, Planning & Zoning, Police, and Administration departments. The role offers up to 28 hours per week, scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. As the Human Resources Coordinator, you will support the Township's HR operations by assisting with recruitment, onboarding, employee records, benefits, and general human resources related functions. You'll work under the direction of the Director of Human Resources and departments across the organization to ensure that employees are supported and HR activities remain efficient and compliant. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with people and supporting a collaborative, service-oriented workplace. Requirements

  • Associate degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent work experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • 1–3 years of experience in human resources or an administrative support role preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS/payroll systems and applicant tracking systems (ATS) preferred.
  • Professional certification such as PHR or SHRM-CP, or the ability to obtain, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support recruitment activities, including job postings, interview coordination, and candidate communication.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including paperwork, system access, and employee transitions.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in compliance with legal requirements and Township policies.
  • Enter and manage data within the HRIS/payroll system and generate reports as needed.
  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Human Resources, including scheduling and document preparation.
  • Track employee training, performance evaluations, and maintain related records.
  • Assist with payroll updates, including pay changes and direct deposit information.
  • Support leave administration and benefits coordination, responding to routine employee inquiries.
  • Assist with workers' compensation, unemployment claims, and required compliance postings.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure secure handling of all employee information.
