About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our team in Downtown Wilmington. This role serves as a partner to managers while also managing the day-to-day execution of core HR functions. The ideal candidate will bring positive energy and strong expertise in employee relations, leave management, talent acquisition, and compliance, while contributing to broader HR initiatives including engagement, benefits administration, reporting, and process improvement. This position requires a hands-on professional who thrives in a fully onsite, collaborative office environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with strong focus in employee relations, leave management, and talent acquisition.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee relations matters, resolving issues with discretion, fairness, and compliance.
  • Advise managers and employees on HR policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and complete unemployment responses; represent the organization at unemployment hearings.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Provide information for annual audits (401k audit, NDT, ACA) and complete required reporting (NDT).
  • Oversee administration of leave programs, including FMLA, ADA, Workers’ Compensation, and other state and federal entitlements.
  • Complete and obtain required paperwork.
  • Track and manage leave documentation and timelines.
  • Communicate with insurance carriers and manage return-to-work coordination.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment from job posting through offer acceptance.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to define staffing needs, job specifications, competencies, and qualifications.
  • Maintain primary responsibility for the ADP Recruiting module and for SparkHire.
  • Manage external job postings and maintain an accurate weekly report of open positions.
  • Coordinate and participate in off-site career and job fairs.
  • Manage external recruiter and headhunter relationships.
  • Oversee the annual ad hoc internship program.
  • Serve as primary contact for day-to-day benefits inquiries.
  • Partner with ADP and USI to resolve benefits-related issues.
  • Manage open enrollment processes.
  • Communicate quarterly and annual bonus timelines.
  • Assist with audits and required reporting (NDT, 401k, ACA).
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Serve as backup for new hire and termination processes.
  • Maintain HRIS data accuracy within ADP (titles, reporting structures, work locations, etc.).
  • Generate and track monthly HR analytics and reports.
  • Partner with the VP of HR on process improvements and engagement initiatives.
  • Assist in rollout of employee surveys and action planning for retention efforts.
  • Provide content ideas for the weekly employee newsletter.
  • Maintain and update HR SharePoint resources (benefits, recruiting, manager tools).
