About The Position

he HR Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic advisor to key functions across the Foundation, partnering with leaders to align talent strategies with organizational goals. This role drives the integration of talent practices, programs, and policies while helping leaders build high-performing, engaged teams that support the Foundation’s growth and transformation. Reporting to the SVP, Human Resources & Culture, the HRBP leads efforts in organizational design, workforce planning, employee engagement, and performance management. The role facilitates Strategic Talent Planning discussions, supports succession planning, and ensures development plans and training strategies are in place for critical roles and high-potential talent. The HRBP also partners closely with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers to define talent needs, launch searches, and participate in the selection process. This is a highly collaborative, client-facing role that works closely with leaders and HR colleagues to address employee relations matters, strengthen team effectiveness, and enhance the employee experience. The HRBP operates with a high degree of autonomy, applying sound judgment to complex people challenges while contributing to cross-functional HR initiatives.

Requirements

  • Six years’ experience in recruitment, human resources, and/or related field.
  • Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated success in cultivating, developing, and enhancing professional relationships.
  • Ability to understand business goals as well as design and implement new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity, and development of HR within a business unit.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative working style and ability to navigate a complex environment working with many stakeholders at varying levels of the organization.
  • Ability to articulate the mission, vision, and values of Indiana University and the IU Foundation to attract potential candidates.
  • Proven ability to identify areas of optimization and implement both small and large-scale process improvements.
  • Ability to maintain highest levels of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work on a variety of talent priorities simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of federal/state labor laws and sound hiring practices.
  • Proficient in basic Microsoft Office suite, ability to utilize Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM certification or master’s degree preferred.
