Broad Function The Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for providing HR counsel and support to regional business leaders to execute strategies that foster organizational and people effectiveness. This position drives overall business performance and employee engagement by proactively diagnosing issues and opportunities and taking the necessary actions to address issues.

Requirements

  • Strong conflict resolution and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tasks that are part of a larger plan or project
  • Ability to interface effectively with various levels of management, customers, and parts of operations
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Self-directed and comfortable dealing with ambiguity
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and effectively meet deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment in interpreting and applying company policies to issues and problems
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field
  • 5+ years human resources experience in a management capacity
  • Comprehensive knowledge of human resource rules and regulations at the federal and state levels

Nice To Haves

  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred
  • Industrial services background a plus

Responsibilities

  • Promote, demonstrate, and instill Brock's Bsafe and Bbest culture in all aspects of the business
  • Ensure compliance of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting the company
  • Work directly with HR teams (Talent Mgt, Talent Acquisition, and Comp & Benefits) to effectively communicate and implement initiatives
  • Act as change agent to support business-driven organizational changes and/or to introduce new business processes
  • Maintain communication with managers, supervisors, and line employees regarding employment-related policies, procedures, rules, laws, and regulations
  • Develop, coordinate, and conduct training programs for departmental staff
  • Ensure employees are properly onboarded and understand Brock policies
  • Counsel management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, etc.
  • Review terminations, disciplinary actions, investigations, and employee relations decisions managed by facility for consistency, risk, and completeness
  • Review employee termination documentation and conduct exit interviews as needed to determine reasons behind separations
  • Investigate and advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues
  • Support the employee benefits open enrollment process through communication and training sessions
  • Provide excellent customer service to employees by answering questions and resolving issues around benefits, pay, policies, etc.
  • Support employee communication of performance management, bonus plan, and other company incentives and measures
  • Provide overall Labor Relations support with respect to union relations where applicable
  • Support regional operations group, operating company, or other Brock business units
