About The Position

The Classification and Compensation Human Resource Analyst Senior provides advanced support to the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR), ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and policies. This role offers expert analysis and leadership on complex classification and compensation initiatives, serves as a subject matter expert, and mentors and trains staff. It ensures consistency, equity, compliance, and data integrity, and acts as the primary backup to the Classification and Compensation Manager.

  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive personnel and compensation information appropriately
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships and adapt to changing laws, systems, and organizational needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and 3 years of relevant experience; or 2 years as a Human Resources Analyst Intermediate or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Leads agency-wide classification and compensation comprehensive initiatives, including complex position studies, classification revisions, reorganizations, and compensation analyses; provides final recommendations within delegated authority.
  • Advises management, department heads, and HR business partners on classification, compensation issues, and compliance with laws, ADOA rules and ADCRR policies.
  • Prepares complex statistical reports, charts, and audits of compensation and classification data. Oversees classification and compensation data stewardship within AZ360, ensuring data integrity, compliance, reporting accuracy, and coordination with HR, Budget, and leadership.
  • Reviews and approves position descriptions, desk audits, PRRs, allocations, and FLSA determinations; serves as an escalation point for complex or sensitive classification and compensation issues. Mentors, trains, and develops Class/Comp Analysts, including onboarding, coaching, work review, and ensuring consistent application of classification and compensation standards.
  • Acts as backup to the Classification and Compensation Manager, assuming delegated responsibilities for approvals, staff guidance, unit coordination, and priority setting as needed. Leads special projects.
