About The Position

The Human Resources Administrative and Payroll Assistant supports the HR department in a wide range of administrative and operational duties. This position helps maintain efficient HR processes by handling onboarding, benefits coordination, HRIS data entry, and compliance tracking while serving as a professional point of contact for employees and visitors.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of administrative or HR support experience (distribution or manufacturing environment preferred).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Experience with UKG/UltiPro or similar HRIS platforms strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the HR Manager and HR team.
  • Assist with general payroll processing.
  • Prepare and process new hire paperwork, I-9s, and onboarding materials.
  • Prepare and send new-hire offer letters or promotion letters via DocuSign.
  • Maintain and update employee information in UKG/UltiPro and personnel files.
  • Support the Benefits Administrator with enrollments, changes, reporting, and employee inquiries.
  • Coordinate logistics for new hire orientation, training sessions, and company events.
  • Support employee engagement efforts, including ordering catering, managing food deliveries, and planning onsite and offsite company events.
  • Generate standard HR reports and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Support compliance processes including EEO, FMLA, and policy audits.
  • Process employment verifications and respond to general HR-related requests.
  • Assist with HR communications and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Perform other HR or administrative duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • Vacation Time: Employees accrue 3.0769 hours of vacation per pay period, equal to 1.54 hours per week. Employees must work a minimum of 40 hours per week to earn the full accrual; otherwise, vacation accrues on a prorated basis. Vacation increases up to 5 weeks with seniority.
  • Vacation Rollover: Employees may carry over up to 40 hours (5 days) of unused vacation into the next calendar year.
  • Sick/Personal Time: Sick/personal time is earned throughout the employee’s anniversary year based on years of service and total paid hours. If paid hours fall below 40 per week or 2,080 per year, accrual is prorated. Unused sick time may be cashed out at year-end.
  • Paid Holidays: 8 paid company holidays annually.
  • Insurance: Medical, dental, and vision coverage begin on the first of the month following the start date. Employee-only Select medical plan: $66 every two weeks.
  • Life Insurance: Company-paid life insurance benefit equal to one year of salary, up to $50,000.
  • 401(k): Immediate eligibility. Company match available. Existing plans may be rolled over.
  • Tuition Reimbursement: Available for approved continuing education and career development.
