About The Position

The Alcoholic Beverage Control Board develops and enforces reasonable administrative regulations relative to the sale and use of alcoholic beverages, tobacco, nicotine and vapor products. The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control includes various divisions as follows: the Commissioner’s office, the Distilled Spirits and Malt Beverage divisions, an administrative services branch, a licensing division, an education branch, a legal division and an enforcement division. We are looking for a Human Resource Specialist Senior to join our team of highly skilled professionals. As a Human Resource Specialist Senior, you will provide professional support to the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) in multiple areas of human resources, such as recruitment, classification, compensation, payroll, employee benefits, performance appraisal, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), or corrective and disciplinary actions. Coordinates and processes personnel, payroll, or employee benefits documents; Learns and gains experience in all areas of human resources administration and applicable statutes and regulations.

Requirements

  • EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of professional experience in human resource administration.

Responsibilities

  • Provides professional support to agency management in drafting, reviewing and processing personnel forms associated with agency personnel actions, employee benefits and employee performance evaluations. Liaison between cabinet and department employees.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding Family Medical Leave Act, Sick Leave Sharing Program, Personnel Action Requests, Workers Compensation/1st Report of Injury, Employee Benefits, Career Opportunities, and Equal Employment Opportunity. Maintains logs for agency.
  • Generates and audits time reports to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Responds to time reporting inquiries.
  • Counsel employees and management on performance evaluations procedures. Audits evaluations for accuracy and compliance with evaluation regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
