About The Position

The HR Manager position will report to the Plant Manager and is responsible for aligning management and employees with the human capital strategy and plan to deliver on their business objectives. The position develops partnerships across the business to deliver value-added services to management and employees that reflect and support the business objectives of the organization. The HR Manager works closely with the business and should have a strong understanding of the overall strategic goals and objectives as well as the ability to translate these into the human capital objectives and plan.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in HR related position
  • Experienced HR generalists with working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines including compensation practices, organizational assessment, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal state respective employment laws.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written).
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Broad knowledge and experience in US employment laws and practices, compensation / payroll, organization planning, organization development, employee relations, training and development and employee engagement.
  • Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other HR programs
  • Experience with guiding and managing the recruitment and staffing processes.
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Preferred experience with ADP and the full suite of HRIS

Responsibilities

  • Leads the development of department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Develops and administers programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company.
  • Develop and implements processes focused on workforce planning, employee engagement, talent reviews, and action planning to develop leaders and ensure future workforce has skills needed.
  • Manages all Talent Acquisition in regard to recruitment, screening candidates, scheduling interviews and managing the onboarding process.
  • Provides guidance and input on workforce planning
  • Identifies and implements training needs for business and facilitates all required training
  • Coordinates any timekeeping and payroll issues. Supports and ensures payroll processes are followed within the business unit. Back up for payroll processing.
  • Partners with plant leadership to ensure a competitive compensation structure and incentive programs are in place.
  • Leads the development of benefit orientations and other benefits training.
  • Recommends changes in benefits offered, especially new benefits aimed at employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase engagement and retention.
  • Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate
  • Develops HR policies and procedures and provides guidance and interpretation.
  • Leads company compliance with all existing governmental and labor legal and government reporting requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Department of Labor, and so forth. Maintains minimal company exposure to lawsuits.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
