About The Position

This is a professional position that is responsible for a variety of personnel issues within the Developmental Disabilities Program as well as being the departmental liaison to the Human Resource Department. The incumbent will have demonstrated success/expertise in recruiting entry level employees. Additionally, they will develop and maintain a working knowledge of Human Resources/Employment Law as it pertains to the DDP program and field and be a resource to departmental staff on these issues, providing training as needed. This position is also involved with maintaining HR and Office tracking and processing systems (to be shared by both internal and satellite offices), Auditing records for compliance with state regulations, conducting records research, workers compensation and disability issues and insurance issues are also periodic responsibilities of the position. Involvement with departmental initiatives, including assistance with collection and analysis of data related to the quality initiative, as well as assisting in a variety of special projects

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of Administrative and/or HR related experience is required, significant experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Demonstrated success/creativity/expertise in the recruitment of direct support/entry level employees is essential.
  • Prior experience with processing employment, FMLA, and disability paperwork and other employment transactions.
  • Ability to mediate employment disputes.
  • The successful candidate will be able to work well and communicate effectively with direct support and all levels of staff.
  • An appreciation for, and understanding of, the philosophy and mission of the Salvation Army are essential.
