About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist part of the management team for multiple assisted livings on a professional level and works closely with site management. This position carries out responsibilities in employee relations, benefits, company policies, legal HR issues, performance management, recruiting and training. Our senior living company manages day-to-day operations at Keystone Bluffs Assisted Living (located in Duluth, MN) and 8 Diamond Willow Assisted Living communities located throughout Minnesota. This role will be an onsite requirement based out of our downtown Duluth, MN corporate office, with travel to the individual communities, when necessary.

Requirements

  • A degree in human resources, business administration or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience related to the job responsibilities listed above.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Reputation of being a reliable, accountable, self-motivated and proactive team member.
  • Outstanding skills in relationship management, organization and problem solving.
  • Professional confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Investigating employee concerns and completion of the documentation.
  • Conduct exit interviews and follow up with employee satisfaction concerns.
  • Conduct annual employee satisfaction surveys and work closely with site managers for improvement.
  • Implement and coordinate employee retention and rewards programs.
  • Compile monthly turnover reporting.
  • Workers Compensation and Unemployment claims.
  • Leave of Absence tracking/reporting.
  • Insurance Benefits.
  • Consults with legal counsel as appropriate and/or as directed by the CEO on personnel matters.
  • Interprets company policies and procedures and ensures the company values are consistently practiced and compliant throughout the company.
  • Maintain records of personnel-related data in both paper (where required) and the database and ensure all employment requirements are met.
  • Process and submit all employee unemployment claims.
  • Develops and maintains a human resources system that meets Company personnel information needs.
  • Comply with all regulations as they apply to Assisted Living facilities, laws, standards and other governmental regulations.
  • Editing and maintaining the company handbook in conjunction with the leadership team.
  • Advises managers on all HR related topics: EEO, harassment and other HR related laws.
  • Coaches managers and provides information and training related to interviewing, performance appraisals, counseling techniques and performance issue documentation.
  • Oversee all quarterly employee reviews and documentation.
  • Work with the site managers to identify staff vacancies.
  • Create job postings and job descriptions.
  • Perform searches for qualified job candidates, using sources such as computer databases, networking, internet resources, advertising, job fairs etc.
  • Organize, prepare and implement recruiting and training program.
  • Editing and maintaining all training materials for positions in the company.
