Lakeside Foods is seeking a bilingual (English–Spanish) HR Assistant who will serve as a critical communication link within our HR team and our predominantly Spanish‑speaking workforce. This position requires full fluency in Spanish and English due to the daily translation, interpretation, and employee‑support responsibilities essential to the role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.
  • 1–3 years of HR or administrative experience, ideally in a manufacturing or bilingual environment.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish (required).
  • Strong communication, organization, confidentiality, and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; HRIS experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate verbal and written translation between English and Spanish.
  • Interpret during meetings, trainings, investigations, safety discussions, and confidential HR conversations.
  • Translate HR policies, employee communications, forms, and onboarding materials.
  • Assist with benefits education, payroll/HR changes, attendance, LOA questions, and employee relations discussions.
  • Support HR leadership by facilitating communication with employees who primarily speak Spanish.
  • Assist with job postings, applicant screening, interviews, and bilingual onboarding.
  • Deliver orientation and ensure new employees fully understand policies, benefits, and workplace expectations.
  • Assist with and translate safety training, signage, and communication.
  • Maintain safety logs, PPE programs, and provide support to the Safety Committee and Emergency Response Team.
  • Assist with personnel file management, badge creation, internal postings, and front‑desk support (where applicable).
  • Support ongoing HR projects, data entry, and daily administrative needs.
