About The Position

Artful Home is looking for a team player, who appreciates what we do, to join our Human Resource team in Madison, WI. The successful candidate will assist with the administration of various areas of Human Resources to include payroll, benefits, FMLA, recruiting, new-hire onboarding, and record-keeping.

Requirements

  • Two (2) or more years of Human Resource experience is required. A Human Resource certification or degree is preferred.
  • Understanding of and experience with benefits is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with employment laws related to such things as FMLA, ADA, EEO is required.
  • Talent acquisition/recruiting experience is required.
  • Experience with a Human Resource Information System is required. Experience with UKG is a plus.
  • Payroll experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, organizational, collaboration, and communication skills to include preparing documents, and giving and receiving feedback.
  • Math skills to include adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing using whole numbers and decimals.
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Daily administration of benefit programs to include life, health, dental, vision and disability insurances, FSA, retirement plan, FMLA, and COBRA. Assists with communicating information to employees about benefit programs, procedures, and changes.
  • Prepares health insurance tracking reports to ensure compliance with ACA requirements and audits benefits for accuracy. Responsible for benefit reporting.
  • Participates in benefit renewal meetings. Provides data needed to complete this process.
  • Responsible for the regular and timely completion of compensation and benefit surveys.
  • Assists with recruiting to include job postings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, background checks and preparing job offers.
  • Assists with new employee onboarding.
  • Assists with various audits.
  • Retrieves and reviews insurance billings and submits them to accounting for processing and payment.
  • Answers inquiries related to employment verification and reference checks.
  • Assists with maintaining job descriptions.
  • Maintains payroll data to include hours worked, PTO, tax withholding, insurance, 401(k), and other team member information. Generates reports as needed.
  • Reviews wages and payroll changes computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.
  • Prepares periodic reports of earnings, taxes, overtime and deductions.
  • Enters service award payments, employee referral bonuses, progressive and annual pay increases, into the payroll system. Processes payroll.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by the Human Resources Manager.
