About The Position

BAE Systems is seeking an outstanding Human Systems Integration (HSI) Engineer for an opportunity to support the U.S. Air Force's (USAF) development and acquisition of the next generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) - the Sentinel. The HSI Engineer will support the Sentinel development with an understanding of the main charters of HSI and human factors engineering to ensure that these critical attributes are incorporated into the weapon system early in the design phase. Details about this position include: This individual is a technical expert in HSI-related efforts as they relate to the ICBM environment. As part of the Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) Team, the job entails support to the Systems Engineering (SE) domain. This function addresses human capability considerations with other specialty engineering disciplines to achieve total system performance requirements by factoring into the system design, the capabilities and limitations of the human operators, maintainers and users. Within the SE process, HSI involves both the technical and program management efforts that provide integrated and comprehensive analysis, design, and assessment of human performance requirements, concepts, and resources. The HSI expert will ensure the system is built to accommodate the human performance characteristics of users who operate, maintain and support the total system. The total system includes not only the mission equipment but also the users, training and training devices and operational and support infrastructure. As a BAE team member, you are part of an Integrated Support Contract, meaning, that BAE assists and advises the USAF with technical expertise to manage the prime contractor in developing the weapon system. This position will entail reviewing prime contractor technical documentation, specifications, and design drawings, participation in technical reviews, and providing sound advice/suggestions within this field to the Government customer. The successful candidate will be energetic, collaborative, self-motivated, and have the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with the desire to make a difference.

Requirements

  • BS/MS Engineering, Computer Science, Software, Mathematics, or Physics.
  • 3 years of directly related experience (2 years with MS degree) in systems integration and analysis of military hardware and software systems/processes.
  • 3+ years directly related experience (2+ years with MS degree).
  • Able to obtain a Secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Current Secret clearance.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Experience with DOORs software.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management.
  • Experience with DOD Acquisition programs.

Responsibilities
