The HSE Specialist I position an entry-level role on our HSE team, with a primary focus on environmental, health and safety programs. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, environmental health & safety, or a related field
3 years of experience or relevant internships, co-ops or academic project work
Strong curiosity and motivation - you ask questions and seek to understand the “why”
Willingness to pitch in, take feedback and learn new programs
Interest in environmental and safety programs within manufacturing
Strong communication, organization and follow-through skills
Comfortable working onsite in a corporate office with occasional travel (up to ~20-25%)

Responsibilities

Support HSE programs across manufacturing plants, labs, farms, and the corporate office.
Assist with environmental and safety assessments to identify hazards and compliance gaps.
Help manage programs like fertilizer registration, medical monitoring, and safety data sheets (SDS).
Support development of HSE procedures, training materials, and corporate initiatives.
Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
Assist with environmental reporting (Tier II, TRI, hazardous waste, air emissions, etc.).
Collaborate with plant leaders, HR, operations, and engineering teams.
Learn how regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT) apply in real manufacturing environments.
