About The Position

Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio is seeking an HRIS Specialist Contractor to join their team on a temporary assignment. Job Summary: This position provides temporary expert support to the Human Resources department in the administration, configuration, and optimization of the organization's Human Resources Information System (HRIS), specifically UKG. The HRIS (UKG) Systems Specialist will support system configuration, troubleshooting, reporting, and training initiatives while acting as a liaison between the agency and UKG technical resources. This role will help strengthen internal HRIS capabilities by developing documentation, training resources, and internal expertise across the HR team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working with HRIS platforms, UKG experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with HRIS configuration, implementation, or system optimization.
  • Experience in troubleshooting HRIS issues and working directly with HRIS vendors.
  • Experience in creating documentation, training materials, and system tutorials.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate technical HRIS concepts to non-technical users.
  • Experience supporting HR teams with system reporting and data management.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, information systems, and business administration. or a related field preferred.
  • Background check required.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the configuration, optimization, and maintenance of the UKG HRIS system, including modules related to HR, payroll, time management, reporting, and system workflows.
  • Serves as the primary liaison between the agency and UKG technical support to troubleshoot system issues and implement system enhancements.
  • Identifies, researches, and resolves HRIS-related issues, including system errors, configuration challenges, and user access concerns.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures related to HRIS functionality and system processes.
  • Records training videos and develops step-by-step guides to support HR staff in navigating, maintaining, and troubleshooting the HRIS platform.
  • Provides training and technical support to HR team members and other system users on HRIS functionality and best practices.
  • Assists with system configuration related to employee data management, reporting structures, workflows, permissions, and security roles.
  • Conducts system testing for new configurations, updates, or enhancements before implementation.
  • Supports reporting and data analysis by assisting HR leadership in developing and maintaining HRIS reports and dashboards.
  • Collaborates with HR leadership and IT to ensure data accuracy, system security, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Assists with documentation and preparation related to compliance requirements and system audits when applicable.
  • Performs other HRIS-related duties as assigned.
